DJI FPV Launch “Redefine Flying” – March 2 – 9am EST

This morning DJI tweeted the official launch announcement for the all-new DJI FPV Combo so be sure to mark your calendars for March 2 at 9EST. Subscribe to our newsletter or click ‘allow’ for notifications to be reminded of the launch event.

The best news we’ve received so far about the DJI FPV Combo is the price: US$1299 for the DJI FPV Combo.  Early speculation from a numbers of sources had pegged the price at about $1500, so the lower price is already great news for FPV enthusiasts who were getting ready to pull the trigger.

FPV has largely been a hobby that required some technical skills as controllers, drones, batteries and components could all come from different manufacturers to be custom assembled by the pilot.  The more technical nature of FPV flying has kept a lot of interested flyers on the sidelines.

As one of the first ‘turn-key’ high performance FPV systems designed to attract even recreation drone flyers, the DJI FPV Combo continues to attract record attention from our readers.

It will be very interesting to see if that interst translates into record sales as well.  FPV flyers aren’t exempt from the drone regulations that have swept the globe in the last couple of years, so there are still hurdles to be overcome to join the sport.

We all know the new DJI FPV drone is bundled with the DJI FPV Combo which also includes the DJI Goggles V2 and the new DJI FPV Remote Control.  An optional Motion Controller that allows one-handed free-style flying is also available as an extra, price to-be-announced.

Are you buying the DJI FPV Combo?

What’s your decision framework for whether to buy the DJI FPV Combo? Are you already flying FPV drones? Or does a turn-key system from a company like DJI make it easier for you to consider getting into it?

What’s your bottom line? Will you pull the trigger on the DJI FPV Combo on March 2nd?  Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
