I love shopping at Amazon, and I’ve done even more shopping there since I picked up a PRIME membership. But the shopping giant’s website doesn’t always serve up the best deals.
Last month we stumbled on an ‘Amazon Search Hack’ that let’s us quickly find products we’re looking for that are marked down 20-90%.
Our new favorite way to search for deals on Amazon is to use specific % off markdown parameters. An example would be to search for all DJI Mavic Air products that are 50% off, or more. We love this Amazon hack because we can use it for everything, not just drone deals.
How to do it
Start off by doing a search for your the specific item, brand or category you are interested in using the Amazon search bar and then add the following string to the end of the resulting URL in the address bar and hit enter:
&pct-off=90-
The string above will list only products in your search criteria that are 90% off or more. If you want to find deals that are 50% off or more, just change the 90 to 50 before adding it to the Amazon URL. It’s an amazing way to find Amazon deals with the least amount of effort.
If we do a search for any of DJI’s drones, we can add a whole range of ‘percent off’ variables to find amazing deals on the drones and the accessories that go along with them. And while you’re unlikely to find extreme deals on newer DJI drones, you’ll be surprised by how many accessories (like ND Filters, spare batteries and more) you can find on sale.
The % Off price search doesn’t work 100% of the time. If there are no products marked down by that amount, you’ll get a search result message saying trying ‘Use fewer keywords’ and a suggestion from amazon on trying other keywords. And many search results will come back with competitors or unrelated products if they have loaded their Amazon listing with your search terms.
Have fun with this. It will amaze you how many products, beyond drones, you can find crazy deals on.

This is also a great hack to find deals on DJI competitors like the PARROT Anafi and the Autel EVO II Series. Yes, DJI dominates the drone biz, but it doesn’t mean being popular makes your products the best. The PARROT Anafi is a phenomenal 4K drone that does everything most users could ever need it for aerial photography and video.
Autel stole the show at CES2020 with the release of the EVO II Series, as the first 8K folding quadcopter with better than Mavic 2 battery life.
Sometimes you can even find items that are accidentally mispriced, saving you even more.
