Skylum Airmagic is Best Software for Editing Aerial Drone Photos

Skylum’s new drone photo editing software AirMagic is the best we’ve found so far.  And with our exclusive coupon you can get 20% off for a limited time!

Over the long holiday weekend we snuck away to a cottage on the lake, hoping to take some great drone video.

It turned out foggy, wet and very windy…so we were limited in how much time we could spend in the air.  But the winds were forcing some really nice wave action and we did our best to capture a few stills.

But when I checked out the images back at the cabin, they didn’t really capture what I thought I saw on the display, and some fine tuning in the app really wouldn’t fix the pics.

We recently picked up an advance copy of Skylums new Airmagic software for aerial photos, so I decided to give it a try.  It’s literally the simplest photo editing software you can find because it relies on special AI algorithms that adjust your photos according the type of drone you’re using. The AirMagic engine detects the camera type used on your drone and makes lens corrections or other optimizations specific to that camera.

Here’s the original photo before we let AirMagic do it’s thing, full of haze and lacking depth, color and drama:

And here’s the after shot once Skylum AirMagic processed it throught it’s AI driven processing engine:

I have to say we were beyond surprised.  Here we were on a foggy day, when you couldn’t see any color or clarity in the water, and the light was ultra-flat to say the least.  And the results blew us away, and now we want to spread the word on Skylum’s AirMagic.  Why weren’t we using this already? If it could make this much improvement in a really terrible photo, imagine what it could do with some of our better shots?

Photo editing software like Photoshop and Lightroom have a steep learning curve.  They’re complex apps that require a lot of time (a LOT!) to learn to use properly.  And they need even more time spent regularly with them to stay ‘fluent’.  A lot of drone photographers want to use Photoshop, but they don’t have the time, or expertise, to pull it off.

AirMagic takes the complexity out of applying all of the visual changes to make a photo great, so you can spend more time capturing images and less time in front of a computer.

We reached out to Skylum last week to let them know how pleased we were with the results and to see if they would give our readers and Youtube viewers a discount on what we believe is THE BEST drone photo editing software around. And it does it automatically–all you have to do is drag & drop the image.

Skylum followed through with a 20% off coupon, just for our readers and followers.  Simply enter code ‘DRN’ at checkout and you’ll you knock more that $10 off the normal $54 price. (good for 2 devices!).  And AirMagic lets you adjust the amount of image processing to your satisfaction.  And you can also apply different filters to create just the right mood in your images.

And Skylum AirMagic can be used on it’s own as a standalone App or as a plugin for both Photosop and Lighroom, as well as an Apple Photos Extension.  All this for for less than $45 (with our coupon code ‘DRN’).

But don’t take our word for it!

After we processed the cottage photo, we went hunting through our ol photo archives to see what other photos we could bring to life with AirMagic’s wild sorcery.  Check out the before and after results below.

If you’re not ready to jump in and buy AirMagic right away, don’t worry — you can do a Free Trial here and still use our coupon later if you decide you like it.

Let us know in the comments what you think of AirMagic.  So far we think it’s the perfect software to get the best results in the least amount of time.
