SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE: Mavic Pro II Release In 33 Days

After our most recent Mavic Pro II (2) article earlier this week, we ended up having an interesting online conversation with a new connections in China.

As we tried to suss out the details, we were assured that the Mavic Pro II (2) would be coming within a 48 day window at most, since the press in China has been very actively discussing the pending release.

Today we learned that DJI has now sent out press invitations for a new event on July 18th called “See The Bigger Picture”.

The image above tells us quite a bit about what could be coming in the newest DJI drone.

First off the “bigger picture” means a bigger sensor.

When OsitaLV first started dripping ideas about the next generation Mavic Pro, a larger 1″ sensors was one of the first tips.  And we’ve also heard that it could actually be a Sony IMX226 1/1.7″ sensor.

The Mavic Pro II battery could be a 4820 mAh intelligent flight battery with up to 35 minutes of flight time.

Also coming is binocular rear sensors, a feature competely missing from the original Mavic Pro.

Pricing details not available yet, but we’ll speculate that the basic Mavic Pro II kit will come in around $1200 USD and a Fly More Combo at $1499.

But back to the image on the invitation…a cloud encircled volcano.  If you’re in to photography you’ll know that it looks just like a human eye….more specificaly the iris.

As you know the iris controls how much light comes into the eye, just like the aperture of a camera.  So is DJI teasing us that the new camera gimbal of the DJI Mavic Pro II will also have an adjustable aperture giving aerial photographers greater control over the depth of field they capture?

What we know for sure is that the new Mavic Pro II will be ground-breaking in it’s technology.  Expect it to look like a larger version of the Mavic Air, with everything that DJI has fine-tuned in it’s experience to date.

It’s going to be an unbelievable drone, and it’s coming July 18th!
