Mavic 2 Enterprise Will Be DJI’s Biggest Unveil of 2018

Earlier this year we told you that DJI was launching the Mavic 2 Enterprise at Airworks 2018 in Dallas on October 30th.  It was a bit of a no-brainer: “new product launch” was already on the agenda and we scooped the story on the Mavic 2 Enterprise to put two and two together.

So it should come as no surprise that DJI is actively promoting Airworks2018 as their biggest unveil of the year” to get the buzz going.

Last month DJI launched two new pro-sumer drones the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom which was a huge upgrade for the freshman Mavic Pro platform.  With two options for cameras, one Hasselblad 20MP and the other a Zoom, we would have thought that was the biggest launch of 2018.

What is going to be so groundbreaking about the Airworks launch is the power that the Mavic 2 Enterprise will bring to commercial users through integrated attachments.

A full list of what the Mavic 2 Enterprise can do isn’t available (yet) but everything from loudspeakers, IR strobes and more can be connected and controlled on the Mavic 2 Enterprise to allow enterprise customers to deploy drones in a way that is fully customized to their need.

Earlier in 2018 DJI realized they couldn’t develop enterprise applications and tools for their drones quickly enough on it’s own.  So they opened up developer toolkits and found commercial partners to make their industrial platforms more adaptable to the end customer.

We expect the same will happen with the Mavic 2 Enterprise.  Look for DJI to showcase partnerships that are already underway, opening the door to an entirely new realm for enterprise drone collaboration.

We enhanced the teaser invitation image for the Mavic 2 Enterprise to see if anything was visible.  And it’s pretty cool.  Mounted on top of the new Mavic 2 Enterprise is some type of binocular device.  It appears to be two cameras, maybe one is optical and the other is thermal.  Or it could be a stereo camera configuration.
