LEAKED: DJI Phantom 4 RTK Receives FCC Approval
Right on the heels of approval for the upcoming DJI Phantom 4 V2.0, our FCC sniffer picked up the scent of yet another new DJI drone: the DJI Phantom 4 RTK. Most interesting that of the current DJI rumours (Phantom 5, Mavic Pro II, Phantom 4 V2.0) there hasn’t been much about a DJI Phantom 4 RTK. DJI first released word of the PHantom 4
But now that it’s received clearance from the FCC, you should expect to see DJI Phantom 4 RTK coming to a sky near you this summer.
DJI introduced “RTK” with the MG-1P RTK model a few months ago, however the advanced industrial drone is not yet available for purchase.
RTK, which stands for Real-Time Kinematic is an advanced navigation and communication system designed for complex flight situations. Think industrial, precision, high interference.
RTK can provide ultra-accurate, centimeter level 3D positioning that is a significant jump in quality over barometer, compass and GPS systems. Flight accuracy at this level is a key demand of DJI’s commercial, industrial and scientific users.
The new Phantom 4 RTK sports a first-ever roof-top dome on it’s shell that holds the additional comm and sensor hardware.
No details yet on what imaging hardware will be mounted on the Phantom 4 RTK gimbal.
A second Phantom 4 Remote Control also received FCC clearance last week as well, with model GL300K and a companion to GL300L. We think the L model will be for the Phantom 4 V2.0 and the K model is designed for the Phantom 4 RTK.
Stay tuned for more details as they emerge. Subscribe, right, to be the first to know about new DJI rumors and products.
Facebook users in a DJI Inspire Owners group posted this photo of the Phantom RTK back in December, but the Phantom 4 RTK rumor mill has been dead-quiet since then.
Based on all of the active, and verified, DJI rumors currently making the rounds it is going to be a busy year of DJI product launches and enhancements.
