Dronecage For Phantom 4 Let’s You Fly In Difficult, Confined Spaces

Looking like the framework for a globe, Phantom 4 drone owners can now protect their drone with Dronecage for the DJI Phantom 4.

Designed to be a protective sphere that surrounds your Phantom 4, the Dronecage system combines a carbon fibre collision ring with strong, flexible carbon-fiber rods.

The ultra-lightweight Dronecage system weighs in at 323 grams.  To put that in perspective, a DJI Spark drone weighs slightly less at 300 grams, and a Phantom 4 Intelligent Flight Battery weighs 468 grams.  The additional weight of the Dronecage does impact the Phantom 4’s published flight times.  Normally a P4 will have up to 30 minutes of battery life, however with Dronecage installed that drops to 13 minutes.

The Phantom 4 drone connects at the arms to the Dronecage collision ring with 4 specially designed clips, and is compatible with the Phantom 4, Phantom 4 Advanced and Phantom 4 Pro.  Dronecage confirmed to us today that the recently launched Phantom 4 Pro V2.0, which has the identical Phantom 4 Series form factor would also accept the Dronecage.

Dronecage is an ideal companion for enterprise users who need to protect their drone in order to fly difficult missions, particularly indoors in confined and hard to reach places.  It also gives the drone pilot much greater confidence to fly in extremely difficult environments.

Because it’s made of super-strong, ultra-light carbon fiber, the Dronecage isn’t cheap.  Carbon fiber is extremely strong, but it’s also expensive.  Dronecage retails for £779.99 (about US$1,000) and is shipping now from www.dronecage.io. Payments accepted via major credit cards and PayPal.
