BREAKING: DJI To Offer Camera Swap Service For Mavic 2 Drones

It’s always a challenge deciding which drone to purchase.  A quick Google search and you’ll see all of those threads discussing Phantom 4 vs Mavic Pro or Mavic Pro vs Mavic Air.

With the recently launched Mavic 2 Series of drones, DJI made it even harder.  Instead of comparing between different models, like the Mavic Pro and the Mavic Air, drone buyers actually have to commit to the Pro with it’s 20 Megapixel Hasselblad camera or the Mavic 2 Zoom with a 2x 24-48mm Optical zoom and 4x digital zoom.

Unlike the DJI Inspire 1 and Inspire 2 Series of drones, which have interchangeable gimbals, the Mavic 2 drones don’t allow swapping of the cameras between Mavic 2 bodies.

Or do they?

DJI just announced that it will offer a “Camera Swap Service” through it’s technical support locations.  Mavic 2 owners will be able to send their drones to DJI to have the camera swapped.

No details or pricing is available yet and for now there are more questions than answers.
