The Mavic 2 Pro was a major upgrade from the original Mavic Pro/Platinum edition of drones, especially in video and image quality. OcuSync 2.0 gives epic signal strength with Smart Controller compatibility. We do expect a new Mavic 3 in 2021, which should lead to price drops on the Mavic 2 Series.

Released exactly one year after the Mavic Pro, the Pro Platinum featured quieter props and enhanced ESCs that made it 4dB quieter than the original. In 2019 the Mavic Pro Platinum was given ‘End of Life’ status by DJI meaning. In addition to the end of production, DJI will no longer provide updates regarding this drone. Critical accessories such as batteries are difficult to source, often coming from questionable 3rd party suppliers in Asia.
