What Attachments Are Available for the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise?

Today, DJI gave us our first ‘official’ look at the much rumored DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise.

An all-new concept in aerial enterprise deployment it uses an new flight control app, has self-heating batteries and uses bolt-on attachments to perform mission specific jobs for enterprise users.

So what attachments are available for the Mavic 2 Enterprise at launch date? Just three, but we know that more will be coming.

M2E Beacon

Designed with U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Night Waiver standards in mind, the M2E Beacon features a bright flashing strobe visible three miles away. This helps pilots carry out missions in low-light conditions or at night much more safely, and provides additional airspace awareness for operators of nearby drones and traditional aircraft.

M2E Floodlight

A dual spotlight with a brightness of 2,400 lumens aids operators in carrying out missions in dark or low-light areas. Spotlight is ideal for search and rescue as well as inspection applications.

With applications ranging from the obvious (illuminating inspection sites) to search and rescue, the M2E Floodlight will find a range of uses.  A lost person could be guided to safety by following a path lit by the Mavic 2 Enterprise.  Or law enforcement could blind or disorient a potential threat by taking away a line of site using the drone.

M2E Speaker

A loudspeaker with a maximum projection of 100 decibels (1-meter distance) lets pilots play up to 10 custom voice recordings on demand, providing a communications channel to nearby individuals that can be critical during lifesaving emergency operations. Messages could be broadcast to employees in remote locations, or to populations in need of emergency information.

DJI recently opened up it’s develop toolkit for third party app and hardware makers to better deploy the commercial drones like the M600.  So it likely won’t be long before DJI will partner with 3rd parties to release additional attachments.

Third Party Attachments

We can immediately think of a dozen attachments for the Mavic 2 Enterprise that would answer the call of many enterprise users. Thermal imaging, payload pickup and deposit and so much more.

For now, though, DJI is more concerned with protecting the critical flight characteristics of the aircraft before approving any third party apps.  Any future payloads must conform to strict specifications,

So we think that any third-party attachments that follow will be in partnership the developers at DJI.  After that, we may see ‘approved’ vendors who agree to adhere to DJI standards.

Whether it’s search & rescue, law enforcement, etc. the range of applications are huge.  Let us know in the comments what ideas you have for useful Mavic 2 Enterprise attachments.
