VIDEO LEAK: More Phantom 5 Drone Images, Specs
If you’ve been following our website you’ll know that we’ve been talking about a new Phantom 5 drone since last March. We’ve seen the photos, shared the rumors and revealed the specs – like a camera with removable lenses.
DJI originally brushed off the speculation about the Phantom 5 by saying it was a “custom one-off” for a commercial client.
But the DJI rumors keep swirling, and bit by bit we get new information and images that we pass along to our readers.
The latest teaser came today on Twitter showing us what looks like sealed motors for the new Phantom 5. It was rumored early on that the nextgen Phantom would have higher grade water resistance to allow it to fly under more extreme conditions.
The cooling holes that used to be on top of the Phantom 4 motor have been moved to the bottom, as shown in the image above.
DJI has also added additional sealing ring gaskets to the battery to help keep moisture out of the Phantom 5 battery compartment. We don’t know if the new Phantom 5 drone will be IP43 rated for water ingress like the Matrice 200 Series but it would be amazing if it is.
And the latest twist in the naming category is whether the new drone will, in fact, be called the Phantom 5. The latest rumor we’re hearing is that (like the new Mavic 2) it could be called the Phantom 4 Enterprise.
You’ll recall that last week we shared the news that the all-new Mavic Enterprise has received FCC clearance and is likely to be released later this month at Airworks2018 in Dallas.
