Updated July 2018: DJI Ronin-S Compatibility For Canon Cameras

Since the release of the new DJI Ronin-S, DSLR and Mirrorless film-makers have been scrambling to get their hands on one.

At release, DJI published a comprehensive list of compatible cameras, including Canon models: the 1D, 5D, 6D and 7D Series. The list also indicated that ‘Start/Stop recording video’ and ‘Capture photo’ were supported features for all five series of Canon cameras.

Since then, DJI has updated the compatiblity list and has demoted 1D and 7D models to “balance and stabilize only”.

It appears that Canon owners were having mixed results attempting to activate the basic features for their camera.

The current list of supported Canon Cameras is short, so here’s the rundown:
