UPDATE: Nikon D5 Now Fully Compatible With DJI Ronin-S

Back in the summer we told you how DJI trimmed back the list of Nikon DSLRs that were compatible with the DJI Ronin-S gimbal.

When it was launched, DJI claimed the Ronin-S worked with 27 Nikon models and then abruptly trimmed it back to just one: the Nikon D850.

With the latest Ronin-S firmware update, we’re pleased to advise that the Nikon D5 joins the D850 on the list of fully compatible Nikon cameras.

With the D5 and Ronin-S you can now:

  • Start/stop recording video
  • Capture photo
  • Pull focus electronically
  • Trigger auto focus

This will come as a huge relief for D5 owners.

For the remaining Nikon models listed previously (D810, D7500, D800, D810A, D3, D300, D300S, D3X, D4, D4S D600, D610 and D700) you’ll have to be patient.  DJI is still trying to develop USB shutter control for those models.
