Trade In Your Old Drone For Any New DJI Product With The “DJI Trade-Up” Program

The new DJI Mini 2 drone releases in less than 24 hours, and I know a lot of drone owners would love to update their tech but feel like they/re stuck with older, outdated drones. Even original Mavic Mini owners may have some regret with their purchase, or just don’t have enough bank right now to upgrade.

DJI understands, and with the launch of the Mini 2 with OcuSync 2.0, it’s a great time to let you know about DJI Trade-Up.

Trading in your old tech gear for the latest model is nothing new. Adorama and B&H Photo have been doing their own trade-in programs for years.

But when we looked into DJI’s Trade-Up program, we were very pleasantly surprised.  It’s much richer than we expected.

We went thought a mock Trade-Up by pretending to trade-in our existing Mavic Mini Fly More Combo and we found out we could get about US$250 in credit towards the new Mini 2.

DJI Trade-Up is only available in the USA and is handled by a US-based 3rd party company.

First, head over to the DJI Trade Up page here. and click on GET STARTED.

Next, select the product you want to trade in.  DJI accepts cellphones, tablets, drones and cameras. Everything from Blackberries, iPhones, GoPro action cameras and, of course, DJI drones and cameras.

Once you’ve selected the make and model of your trade-in, DJI will ask for more details on what components & accessories you have to trade in as part of the deal.

We went through the motions of trading in twice, and like I said above, the results were surprisingly positive.  Trading in a Mavic Pro fly more combo in great condition could get you almost $300 towards any new DJI product.

Once you decide to accepts DJI’s offer, click to accept the deal and that’s when you get re-directed to Re-Tech, DJI’s Trade-Up partner.

From there Re-Tech will collect all of your information and make arrangements for you to ship your trade-in to them. And the best part, it’s free to ship your trade-in to Re-Tech!

Re-Tech will evaluate your trade-in and either confirm or adjust the trade-in value.  If you’re provided with a lower offer that isn’t acceptable, you can reject it and all of your gear will be shipped back to you…no charge.

And don’t be concerned if you don’t have everything that was originally ‘in the box’ with your new product.  Just send in what you have and DJI’s partner will provide you with an evaluation.

Once you’ve completed the Trade-Up process and received DJI Credit in your DJI account you’re locked in, and the Trade-Up cannot be canceled.

Compared to the last time we reviewed DJI Trade-Up, the program has gotten much better.

So if you’re looking to lighten the hit to the wallet while upgrading to a new DJI drone, camera or gimbal you definitely owe it to yourself to check out DJI Trade-Up.
