RUMOR: DJI Inspire 3 Coming Later This Year With New Zenmuse Cameras
Last year DJI surprised us with the Zenmuse X7, a new camera gimbal for the Inspire 2 drone. Built with a super 35mm sensor and interchangeable lenses, it is the highest quality camera kit every released by DJI.
Now we’re hearing rumors that DJI is already working to replace the Inspire 2 and the Zenmuse X7…as early as the end of this year….with a new Inspire 3 and new Zenmuse X6, X7s and X8 gimbals.
Today we saw first sketches of a new Zenmuse X8 camera gimbal that will be released in late 2019, sometime after the Inspire 3 appears.
The Zenmuse X8 will be the X7’s bigger, bolder brother with a 40MP full frame camera capable of capturing 8K Cinema DNG, 6K Apple ProRes in a gimbal weighing slightly more than one pound.
When the new Zenmuse X7 was released, pricing was not know but today we know that a Zenmuse X7 with all four lenses and an Inspire 2 drone will set you back over $10,000. So this is serious gear for the serious professional.
While we’re not surprised to see more DJI rumors this year, we’re still waiting for the release of the new and improved Mavic Pro II expected at NAB in April as well as more details on a possible DJI Phantom 5.
