New Osmo Pocket Firmware Adds Cinelike, PRO modes, more

If you like using your Osmo Pocket without attaching your smartphone, you’re going to love the latest Osmo Pocket firmware update!

Until now, users could connect a MIMO enabled smartphone and configure PRO settings in the Osmo Pocket that persisted after the smartphone was disconnected. This PRO mode setting was lost, however, as soon as you changed camera settings.

With the new firmware, an all-new PRO mode menu item has been added inside the Osmo Pocket that lets you toggle in and out of PRO mode and adjust all of the manual settings that matter to your shoot.  You can adjust white balance, exposure, shutter speed, ISO, and more.

Here’s the rundown on whats new or enhanced in this Osmo Pocket firmware update:

  • Added PRO settings when using Osmo Pocket without DJI Mimo
  • Added option to switch between AFC and AFS when using Osmo Pocket without DJI Mimo
  • Added Cine-Like color mode to video mode
  • Fixed issue: after powering off, the gimbal attitude of some devices was in an abnormal position to fit into the cover
  • Optimized face detection
  • Reduced focus pulsing in some situations, such as when shooting the sky or at night
  • Increased autofocus speed when moving Osmo Pocket quickly

Cine-Like is here

We’re running two different versions of the MIMO app, the public version and a beta.  Our beta app has given us Cinelike from the start but it hasn’t been available in the public version until now.

If you’re not familiar with the flat color profile that Cine-Like provides, spend some time on Youtube and you’ll quickly see that it gives you an even color canvas for when you’re ready to start color grading your videos.

Focus Mode control

We love that DJI has given us focus mode control right in the Osmo Pocket.  There are lots of times when we need to stay locked on our stationary subject, and now we can go AFS without the hassle of re-connecting a smartphone.

PRO Mode Features Now Built-In!

The big story in this firmware update is, of course, having PRO mode features accessible in the Osmo Pocket without needing the Mimo app.  Yes the wireless module lets us have smartphone control that is wireless and convenient, but nothing beats having control at your finger tips when you need it!

We’re really impressed so far with the updates DJI has been making with the Osmo Pocket.

Hopefully we see some addtional accessories soon, especially the waterproof housing and extension rod.  Until then, keep on filming with your Osmo Pocket.

And don’t forget that WE’RE GIVING AWAY AN OSMO POCKET ! All you have to do is be one of the first 1000 subscribers to our YouTube channel. We’ll make the draw as soon as we hit that magic number!
