More Photos of NextGen Phantom Series With Interchangeable Lenses
New pictures from Twitter user OsitaLV this morning show more images and features of the next generation of Phantom drones, likely the Phantom 5, from DJI. The DJI rumor mill has been quiet for weeks now, and as we said
yesterday, that’s usually a sign that something is in the works.
OsitaLV’s keen eye noticed that the cooling ports on the new Phantom 5 drone have been moved to the bottom of the drone body. With the addition of more sealing rings around the battery it rumored that the Phantom 5 will be rain-proof.

It was seven months ago that OsitaLV first released his concept drawings of the Phantom 5, and it appears they are now coming to fruition.
What we don’t know is when the new Phantom 5 will be released.
DJI usually releases new product around Memorial Day in the US or in the September to November shopping season window.
The images released today show a drone and lenses that look much closer to sale or launch than previous ones. The 50mm lens (below), one of 4 that will be available for the Phantom 5, clearly has ‘ready for sale’ labels and graphics applied so it’s entirely possible the Phantom 5 could be released much sooner than we expect.
Back in November we shared the first concepts of the Phantom 5 with it’s gimbal and adaptable lens system, and with each leaked photo it’s rewarding to see it coming to reality.
