The DJI Zenmuse X7‘s Super 35mm video sensor is almost 9x larger than a standard 1″ sensor, and with 14 stops of dynamic range the X7 enjoys incredible detail capture in low light conditions.
DJI also introduced an all new lens mount for the Zenmuse X7 called the DJI DL-Mount, designed to accomodate 4 prime lens pairings in 16/24/35/50mm focal lengths with resolutions up to 8k. These futuristic lenses are made of lightweight carbon fiber and the advanced technology in the lenses has been specifically crafted for the X7‘s high-end image sensor.
In order to unleash all of the DJI Zenmuse X7‘s potential, DJI has upgraded the Inspire 2‘s Image Processing System to CineCore 2.1. What does that mean? Well video capture is now as high as 6k in CinemaDNG at 30fps. Here’s the full stats:
- 6K CinemaDNG 30fps
- 5.2k Apple ProRes 30fps
- 2.7k Apple ProRes 60fps
- Exposure Index (EI) mode
- DJI Cinema Color System
The last item on the list, DJI Cinema Color expands the D-Log Curve and the D-Gamut RGB color space for increased flexibility and more color options.
DJI’s EI-Mode allows film-makers to match the capture settings of the DJI Zenmuse X7 with cameras used in other aspects of production such at TV Series, Commercials, Documentaries and Feature Films.
Weighing in at just 449 grams (about 1 pound) the DJI Zenmuse X7 allows the Inspire 2 to fly for up to 23 minutes on a full charge, barely impacting on the maximum 27 minutes of battery life for an ideal flight situation with an Inspire 2.
The DJI Zenmuse X7 is available now for pre-order with shipping expected around the first week of November.
Priced at US$,2699 for the DJI Zenmuse X7 body only and it’s not compatible with the DJI Inspire 1 drone.
