DJI Will Release New Mavic 3 Classic on November 2nd

The DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone, another ‘worst kept secret’ by DJI’s marketing department will be released on November 2nd, 2022. Uptake on the original Mavic 3 may have been lighter than expected since the 2nd zoom camera wasn’t really suited for any type of quality imagery compared to a camera with a larger sensor.

Over the next week we expect a flurry of product photo and spec leaks, retailer price leaks and more.

Aimed squarely at Mavic 2 Pro owners, the Mavic 3 Classic features an improved camera on an improved aircraft with improved battery life and an improved controller. If you’re a Mavic 2 owner it will be hard to look away from this DJI product launch.

| What We Know So Far

Because we already know the key aircraft specs of the Mavic 3 chassis, there is little that is changing other than the camera and sensor.

We may see subtle differences in flight time/battery life, etc in the Mavic 3 Classic but almost everything in the aircraft remains the same as the original Mavic 3.

What could be different or improved are soft specs like internal storage and field of view to name a couple.

The most important specs will be about the camera and sensor DJI will use in the Mavic 3 Classic. Is DJI just transplanting the existing Hasselblad 4/3 20MP camera to the Mavic 3 Classic or will we see some tweeks to it?

| DJI Mavic 3 Classic Price

New drones aren’t just competing on price with their competitors (yes, DJI does have one or two competitors). The used market for older drones, like the Mavic 2 Series and Air 2S have held their value fairly well.

The latest rumor on the Mavic 3 Classic price is that DJI will release it for US$1400, about 2x the price of a Mini 3 Pro. Anyone trying to sell their Mavic 2 Pro online will have to take a haircut on price based on the Mavic 3 Classic pricing.
