DJI Rumored To Be Mopping Up Remaining Mavic Pro/Platinum Inventory Ahead Of Mavic Pro 2 Launch

@OsitaLV is reporting that authorized DJI resellers have seen reduced inventory of the Mavic Pro and Mavic Pro Platinum folding drones in advance of the DJI’s July 18th Launch Party.

The much anticipated launch of the new DJI Mavic Pro II (2) has been an on-again-off-again rumor for almost a year, and it will be on the heels of Autel’s release of their Mavic Pro challenger the EVO.

Autel provided very slim inventory to resellers (some getting just 5 units) and the new 4K 60fps folding drone sold out almost immediately.

With a full 30 minutes of battery life, compared to 27 for the Mavic Pro, the EVO is one of the first serious competitors to the Mavic Pro.

Looking at the rumored specs of the yet-to-be-released Mavic Pro II (2), we expect upgrades in the following areas:

Mavic Pro/Platinum Feature Mavic Pro II (2)
27/30 Battery 35
1/2.3″ Camera Sensor 1″
4K 30fps Framerate 4k 60fps
+ more?
60 Mbps Writespeed 100 Mbps
No Onboard Storage 16Gb
Front Obstacle avoidance 5 Direction
Fixed Aperture Variable

Earlier this month we noticed that refurbished Mavic Pro‘s had been discounted DJI to $650 from $799, and similar “blow-out” pricing was evident on Mavic Pro Fly More Combo‘s at Costco.

Once the July 18th event passes, you should expect to find decent deals on the original Mavic Pro if you’re satisfied with the existing specs.
