DJI Releases Mavic 3 Classic Today

With little fanfare, and very few leaks or rumors, the DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone was added to the DJI Store today.

Identical to the original Mavic 3 in almost every way, the only difference in the Mavic 3 Classic is the single camera with 4/3 CMOS sensor.

Being sold with the popular DJI RC, the simplified Mavic 3 Classic is also very attractively priced at US$1749 for the basic kit, and an additional US$649 for the Fly More Combo with 2 more batteries, charging hub, car charger, bag and extra propellers.

With 15 more minutes of battery life than it’s predecessor, the Mavic 2 Pro, making it an ideal pro-level drone for Mavic 2 owners to move up to. DJI has focused much of the last two years on the Air 2/2S and Mini platforms before bringing out the Mavic 3 with it’s dual cameras one year ago.

Mavic 3 Classic specs:

  • 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad Camera
  • 5.1K/50fps Professional Imagery
  • Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution
  • 46-Min Max Flight Time
  • Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing
  • 15km HD Video Transmission
  • Advanced RTH
  • Night Mode for Video Recording
  • DJI RC (5.5-inch HD Display)

| Goodbye Mavic 2 Pro

The Mavic 2 Pro has been one of our primary drones since it was released. Great battery life, solid flight in windy conditions and a fantastic 1″ sensor all combine to make it one of the best camera drones ever. We’ll be testing the Mavic 3 Classic over the coming weeks (watch for our review) and it’s very likely it will immediately take over from the Mavic 2.

| DJI Care Refresh

We strongly encourage people to add DJI Care Refresh to their cart when buying at the DJI Store. It has saved us 3 times now, and we are high frequency drone users.

Care Refresh for the Mavic 3 Classic is US$159. You can read up on it’s benefits here.

If you opt to add Care Refresh later you can buy it online within the first 48 hours of activating your drone. If you want to add Care Refresh after 48 has elapsed you’ll have to upload some video and complete an online submission.

DJI Mavic 3 Classic is available at DJI Store, B&H Photo and Adorama.
