DJI Confirms August 23rd For Mavic 2 Drone Launch

Last month DJI had to postpone it’s planned Mavic 2 drone launch event for unspecified reasons.

Through our contacts we learned that DJI’s See The Bigger Picture event was pushed back to allow DJI to stock up on the new Mavic 2 Series of drones in order to satisfy huge demand.

DJI is launching 2 new drones at the August 23rd event, a Mavic 2 Zoom and a Mavic 2 Pro.

Both Mavic 2 drones feature:

  • 1080p video transmission and up to 8km of range
  • 20m/s top speed (72 kmh)
  • 31 minute battery life
  • APAS intelligent flight sensing control (as in Mavic Air)
  • Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing

The Mavic 2 Pro will feature a 1″ CMOS Hasselblad camera.

The DJI Mavic 2 Zoom has 2x optical zoom with a 24-48mm lens configuration.

Retail prices not known yet, however details are imminent.

The DJI Mavic 2 Live Event will be simulcast at live.dji.com so be sure to bookmark that site for August 23rd.
