Canada Retailer ‘NewEgg’ leaks Mavic Mini Specs – 30 min battery, 2.7k +MORE!

It happens every time DJI launches a new drone.  Just days before the actual launch date, a handful of retailers slip up and let specs and photos loose on the internet.

The frenzy that follows is a lot of fun to report, and this is no exception.

For starters, can we please take a moment to talk about how awesome it is that this tiny little drone will have a 30 minute battery?

The old Spark drone only had a 16 minute battery life.  My how things have changed. Not only is the Mavic Mini 51 grams lighter than the spark, it flies almost 100% longer!

The prices you see are in Canadian dollars, and due to duties could be higher than store.dji.com

But if they are ‘the real deal’ the Mavic Mini Fly More Combo will retail at DJI.com for $499 and the basic Mavic Mini Kit will be $399.

Before knowing all of the specs, we were concerned with how DJI would price the Mavic Mini.  But knowing it has 30 minutes of battery life is a gamer changer.  It could end up being a blockbuster seller for two types of drone buyers: a) the frustrated hobbyist who doesn’t want to deal with registration and licensing simply to enjoy occasional aerial photography and b) the serious enthusiast who wants a 3-axis, 2.7K camera drone with 30 minutes of life for those situations (ie over people?) when a larger pro-sumer drone can’t be used.

Here’s NewEgg’s listing for the Mavic Mini:

As you can see, the specs are great!

We’ll want to know more details about the ‘Vision Sensor’, which sounds to us like a bottom sensor for landing and lower obstacle avoidance.

But we’re super excited to see the 4KM HD video transmission range and that the Mavic Mini camera is a full 3-axis gimbal with a 2.7K camera.

Expect more specs to leak out over the next two days. We’ll be reporting them as they happen!
