BREAKING: DJI Releases Details On Mavic 2 Enterprise Drone
Take me to the Mavic 2 Enterprise page at DJI.com
For weeks, DJI has been teasing us with obscure images of the pending DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise. Planned for release at AirWorks 2018 in Dallas, we’d been watching for some breadcrumbs leading up to the event that we could share with you.
Instead, DJI went full-ahead and released all of the details about the Mavic 2 Enterprise by publishing the Mavic 2 Enterprise page on DJI.com
Built to Empower. Destined to Serve.
Designed specifically to accomodate modular accessories that connect through a separate, dedicated port, the Mavic 2 Enterprise is unlike any of DJI’s other compact, folding drones.
The first accessory DJI highlights is the M2E Spotlight that can be used to enhance observation in low-light conditions or direct lost persons with greater ease.
Massive On-board Storage
With the Mavic Air’s 8GB on board storage, DJI introduced us to the concept. The Mavic 2 Enterprise has a massive 24GB of onboard storage, and supports Class 3 MicroSD cards up to 128GB. The on-board storage alone may be compelling reason for those who haven’t upgraded yet to consider the Mavic 2 Enterprise over the Pro or Zoom if camera isn’t the #1 consideration.
Self Heating Battery
Anyone who has experience flying in colder climates is already aware of the issue that cold batteries presents. The M2E offers both Manual and Automatic battery heating that will extend your flight time significant when operating under less than ideal conditions.
Discreet Mode
The DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise uses propellers designed for quiet, much like other recent DJI drones. But with Discreet Mode, the operator can turn off all of the external LED lights and conduction the mission with visual stealth. Obviously this is targeted to law enforcement.
The FOC ESCs & Propulsion system lets the M2E move through complex environments “with a powerful propulsion system that boasts minimal sound.”
Secure DJI Pilot App
If you’ve been flying with DJI for any time, you will be familiar with their flight system software DJI GO and DJI GO 4.
Mavic 2 Enterprise uses an entirely new platform called DJI Pilot, that also comes with secure elements to keep the aircraft, and it’s record data, save and secure.
AirSense is like Radar for Your Drone
The M2E sports omni-directional sensing, like the Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom. But with AirSense in the DJI Pilot app, the operator will see visuals of the airspace around the M2E allowing improved flight safety. AirSense even gives real-time positional alerts on nearby manned aircraft.
While we’re on the topic of sensing, with FlightAutonomy the M2E has 8 hi-res vision, and 2 infrared, sensors mounted on the sides of the aircraft, allowing flight and hovering stability far superior to anything DJI has built before.
Like you, we’re really excited to see what attachments will be showcased at AirWorks 2018 tomorrow.
Pricing
The US retail price of a Mavic 2 Enterprise Universal Edition which includes an aircraft, a remote controller, one battery, all three mountable accessories and a protector case with flight tools, is $1,999 USD. A Fly More Kit which includes two batteries, one battery charging hub, one car charger, one USB connector, one soft case and two propellers is also available to users for $419 USD.
