Leaked YouTube Video Reveals New DJI Osmo Action !
It looks like a collaboration video between YouTuber “Mauro” and ND filter maker FREEWELL Gear was leaked to the internet overnight showing just about everything you could want to know about the new DJI Osmo Action! (Scroll to the bottom for the video)
It’s common for new products, and the accesories that support them, to find their way into the hands of reviewers ahead of time so that these videos can all “drop” at the same time as a new product is launched.
We don’t know how Mauro’s video found it’s way to the internet prematurely, but there will be some grumpy people as a result. Mauro is a passionate reviewer of drones, gimbals, etc. and is really great at explaining the cinematic and techy side of of the devices. And he has a skill for delivering information in easy to digest chunks that are concise and to the point.
Here’s the latest details we learned about the DJI Osmo Action from this video:
- Electronic image stabilization called “Rocksteady” mode
- 1080p up to 240fps
- Filters screw on, AND must be tight because they are part of the waterproof seal
- this could be problematic if users don’t attach filters correctly, or use a damaged filter
- Osmo Action is smaller than GoPro HERO7
- D-Cinelike
- Shoots 1080p/2.7K/4K
The video is basically a promo for FREEWELL ND filters, so Mauro only goes over a few of the Osmo Action settings.
What we know for certain is that all comparisons between the DJI Osmo Action and the GoPro HERO7 will come down to image stabilization. GoPro has set THE standard for electronic stabilization with the HERO7, so be ready for a lot more video critiques of the DJI Osmo Action than we usually see with a DJI drone.
GoPro users are a loyal crowd.
Anyway, we found this Osmo Action video on Chinese blog Kanzhaji this morning….
