Drone Leak: UK Retailer Argos Catalog Shows 2 Versions of New Mavic Pro 2 Drone
Nothing confirms a drone rumor true better than cold, hard printed facts. And today we woke up to fresh copy of UK retailer Argos most current catalog with photos and specs of the all-new DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom drones.
We knew earlier in July that there would be two version of the Mavic 2, thanks to these leaked photos. But thanks to Argos we have even more details about what to expect from the new DJI drones.
Key Specs:
- 1080p video transmission
- 8km (4.9 miles) transmission range
- Max spped 20 m/s (44 mph)
- 31 minute battery life
- APAS
- ActiveTrack 2.0
- Omnidirectional obstacle avoidance.
The Mavic 2 Pro will have a Hasselblad 1″ CMOS sensor camera.
As it’s name suggest the Mavic 2 Zoom has 2x optical zoom (24mm-48mm) enabling a built-in Dolly Zoom effect. Dolly zoom not available in the Mavic 2 Pro.
Pricing not yet available for either model.
The new Series of Mavic was supposed to launch on July 18th of this year, however DJI pulled the plug just days before citing production issues. Further follow-up by DRN revealed that DJI needed more time to ensure production would be able to provide adequate drone supply once buyers started ordering.
We haven’t received word on when the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom will “officially” launch, but the whispers we’re hearing point to September.
