BREAKING: Launch Date For New Autel Drones Confirmed!
We love it when a drone rumor becomes verified drone news!
Loosely translated from Chinese, the theme of the dual drone launch next week from Autel Robotics is “A New World of Aerial Photography”.
Ever since we reported on the pending launch of two new Autel drone, a sub-250 gram micro drone called Nano and a DJI Air 2S spoiler called the Lite our inbox has been jammed with questions from readers.
Official Launch Date
Autel Nano and EVO Lite will be released on September 28, 2021 in Shenzhen China at 10:00am local time. If you want to watch the announcement there’s a link below for you to bookmark the launch site. If you’re in Eastern North America it will be 1opm on the 27th, since Shenzhen is 12 hours ahead of us.
Details of the actual drones are still quite limited, but we expect the rumors and leaks to continue flowing now that a launch date is live.
Launch vs Buy-able?
This will be a big test for Autel, since showcasing the EVO II in Las Vegas in January 2020. Although the EVO II technically went ‘live’ in January 2020, it took months before you could buy one. In this instant gratification world, delays work quickly to erode consumer interest.
EVO Lite specs:
- 30+ minute battery
- 1″ Sensor
- 4K60fps, 20MP stills
- 3 direction vision sensors (fwd, down, rear)
- active tracking
- programmed flight modes
EVO Nano specs:
- 30+ minute battery
- camera unknown
- 4K30fps, 12 MP stills
- 3 direction vision sensors (fwd, down, rear)
- active tracking
- programmed flight modes
One feature visible in the announcement graphic are the bright front facing LEDs that appear to flank each side of the camera. Very cool.

We really like the Autel Evo 2 Pro that we use for Drone Services here in Las Vegas. We have not had any issues flying the Evo 2 Pro. Can’t wait to see the newly released Autel drone models. Hopefully, they are coming out with a new Evo 2 version, always look forward to newer versions. We saw lots of incredible drones at the Drone Expo in Vegas. Stay well and fly safely.

You have bad information. I just talked with Autel in USA and they say that there is no release date and the Nano is not being released in China tomorrow or any “planned” date.
Not sure who you spoke to at “Autel” but we got an email from them on Friday pre-announcing the drones and the specs with a 9.28.2021 release date. Today we shared the email sent to us on Friday by autel in this article , maybe you should send it to your ‘friend’ at autel.
Yep. We’re still waiting.
