Updated June 2018: Canon Cameras & Lenses Compatible With NEW DJI Ronin-S

DJI’s new Ronin-S handheld smart-gimbal for Digital cameras is now available for order at the DJI store ($699).

In the original list of Canon cameras and lenses compatible with the DJI Ronin-S, there were 4 cameras and 14 lenses.

The Ronin-S is compatible with a broad range of cameras and lenses, including Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Nikon and Hasselblad.  The list is to large for one article, so we’re breaking it down by manufacuter.

  • According to DJIs site as of 2 days ago, ONLY one Nikon (the 850) and one Canon will even start stop with the RONIN S. DJI says they are “working” on this. Please tell me where you got this list of compatible cameras…I believe it to be inaccurate (and of course getting info from DJI is impossible). Thanks.

    • Hi Michael,
THere have been at least 4 versions of the compatible camera list since the DJI Ronin-S was released. The 2ndlist, |Ronin-S Camera Compatibility List rev 30.05.2018 EN listed Pull Focus for all of the associated Nikon cameras with the footnote “Feature will be implemented trhough a future firmware update”. I think DJI is encountering issues with compatibility as they try to roll out features.

  • Will the Ronin S also eventually have updates for the Canon rebel series? I just bought the gimbal and love it but would love to have all the features for my 200D

    • Hi Arman,
While I don’t have any ‘official’ word, the most recent firmware upgrade for the Ronin-S has been encouraging.
The Ronin-S now supports more key features in it’s primary Canon cameras that it did when launched. HOwever the Rebel is an entry level camera and since the Ronin-S is positioned as pro grade gear I would expect DJI to focus their attention at the top of the Canon food chain. They only have so many developers to be able to program for so many cameras.
      Hopefully I’m proven wrong!

      • I see. I’m debating whether to return it or not because I just realized I can’t even connect my camera to the ronin s through its cables. I guess my camera isn’t meant for the gimbal.

  • Hi Arman, we have a Canon 60D, we updated both the Ronin S and the camera, but we can’t get the start/stop button to work. How do we have to set it up? Thanks in advance. Michela
